Fallout 4 is probably one of the best games I've played and I remember when Ms. Pac Man came out.

Featuring the most complex character creation system in gaming history, Fallout 4 sets the bar for physically developing your characters.

Still waiting for "Skyrim in Space" (Starfield).

Fallout and I have lately had a falling out.

Read about Starfielf yesterday, they described it as "Ugly No Man's Sky"

Sad.

My guess is that they expect modders to put something interesting on those 1000 planets they'll supposedly have in the game.

Yeah, heard that, too.

I played NMS when it first came out. Gave it two hours then gave up. Ugly, empty, and BAF. (Apparently, they've improved it over the past few years but I'm not convinced.)

The reason I'm looking forward to Starfield, though, is because I'm a total science fiction geek and I've been pining for good SF entertainment; so far, the last few years have been dry in that department where films and games are concerned (books are still the exception, though).

I'll also be aching to play the upcoming remastered version of what I think is the best science fiction horror game out there, Dead Space. Can't wait to see how the original creators of that one will wow us with The Callisto Protocol later this year.

But, yeah, Fallout.

Sorry about you Pip Boy, @Bastard Factory . :GiggleBitch:

I'll go back to Fallout 4, from the beginning (4th time) in a year or two.

Since were talking about Bethesda and why they're the best... Prey is worth your time.

I've played Prey twice. Awesome game. Mooncrash, too.

Still can't bring myself to either play as a Phantom or to use alien perks.

Just can't see myself offing anyone as a coffee cup.

Arkane can do no wrong. Dishonored rules!

Dang, so many great games that fall in that backlog, never to be remembered...

Fallout 4 is a good game. But if you've played its predecessors, it'll feel old hat right out of the box. Maybe that's what folks are looking for? You know, a comfortable post-apocalypse?

I avoided Fallout 76, though. Too much neg hearsay.

Uber-patriotic America, to me, will never be better illustrated than by way of Bioshock Infinite's Columbia, founded in 1893, seceded in 1902. Sort of the Deep South On High.

Skyrim I now have mixed feelings about. I was over 100 hours in on the Xbox 360 version (without even having yet tackled the main story quest). Had homes, a wife, children, and a map that held few secrets. Then I got the more recent remastered version, for some reason thinking I could just continue where I left off. Nope. Not the case. Back to square one. I played for a few hours, just to ooh and aah at the graphics, and then shelved it. The only way I can get all my shit back is by playing the old version. Fuck that. I guess that makes me a deadbeat dad now.

I started on Fallout 3, loved that game. Son loved it too. Then he got Vegas, I never played Vegas, but he said it was his favorite. 76 he didnt like, and sold it.

Dang that sucks on Sky, I started on the XboxOne version.

Yeah, it does suck.

These days, I'm on an indie bender. With a GP sub, I have a chance to try a whole bunch of small, independent games that I normally would'nt notice, seeing as they live in the shadow of triple A behemoths.

Could have swore I already responded to this thread, but my post isn't here so I mustn't have done, nevermind.

Fallout 4 was the first game in the franchise I played and I loved it. Contemplated playing through it a second time with there being different endings and how making different choices affects the game etc, but with it being so long I decided against it.

I considered getting Fallout 3 but chose not to with it being so old and got 76 instead, despite reading how flawed it was. It was ok, but not a patch on Fallout 4. Also, the graphics seemed inferior? How the fuck does that work for a game which is newer??

Supposedly Fallout Vegas is the best in the series, but can't vouch for that opinion, as I haven't played it.

New Vegas is generally the "better" game because the developers already had an engine and assets to start from so they could add things like a faction system and better gun mechanics, they improved on a lot.

Fallout 3 is still up there for me as one of my favorites. It's a janky broken mess of a game full of retard design choices, no iron sights, green brown grey ugly but it's fun as hell. Running around listening to Butcher Pete and Halls of Montezuma getting into laser gun battles with robots and deathclaws with the Washington monument on the horizon

I was just doing another playthrough of F4... my first problem was the bug from the Tunnel Snakes add-on which breaks the very first quest 'Out of Time' and then I started to get the 0kb error that wouldn't let me save the game. Found out the error came from having mods installed but I've played the game so many times I won't bother if I can't have mods. It's been out seven years, you'd think they'd have fixed all that by now.

I kept getting my ass kicked in Prey even if I played on story mode. Just couldn't get the hang of it I guess. I liked it because it reminded me of System Shock 2 but it got repetitive after a while. Maybe I'll try again.
