I've been reading and it seems to me this is happening since you went from being the harmless and quirky guy to a spiteful one with that survey you filled out. Can't claim "good guy" status if you do that. Especially around Christmas.
Anyway, you answered your own question. It's common sense that goes without saying or analyzing. We do a lot of things without thinking about it.
If you ask someone if they have the time or if they know where a certain room is, they don't say, "yes..yes I do!", and keep walking, they give the info.

Politicians annoy me when they think I'll lap up their drivel.

I had a politician parrot, "the pen is mightier than the sword" to me the other day so I asked her what kind of formidable pen her body guards keep in those holsters.

Simple fact is that they'd prefer you run around for months to get 10,000 signatures so they can look at it, agree to schedule a town hall meeting to "discuss" it four months from then rather than just get shot off their high horses from 800 meters.

If I'm on a protection detail for one these useless slugs and I see trouble coming, I might just pick that moment to take a knee and tie my shoelace.
