Yes. I'd take an empty tuna can and run the can opener around it so my cat would freak out with anticipation, then hand it down to him while he pawed at it while having a meowing freakout -- then laugh while he just stared at the inside of the empty can. (After he wandered off I'd open one for him for real.)

Blackout shade. My apartment is a west-facing studio with one "living room" window, with those vertical plastic blinds. They're old and slightly warped, and around late afternoon to sunset, the sun gets in through the gaps and hits the north and east walls in here, which hits my display with a ton of glare. So I put a 6 foot by 8 foot blackout shade between the desk and those shitty blinds to put a stop to that.
