I like to do weather shots. In the last decade, I've been a storm chaser. Storms my way are few and far between however, I also do sunsets and landscapes and anything to do with the environment. So I'm dedicating a thread to celebrate our personal environment.

Yes, this really was our sun. This is what happens when there are bush fires and our is going down.....

A few years ago we had a nasty fire in the mountains and when the smoke came our way it blocked out the sun.

That was some nasty shit. :(

I guess it gets colder than that in Australia's Antarctic territory though....lol

Coldest I've encounter is -53C and that was up at the 7000 foot level in the dead of winter.

You have to breath very slowly in that cold or else the snot will freeze right in your nose.

Getting back to fires.... Four years ago I was working in Fort McMurray when the biggest fire we ever had broke out. I and a 100,000+ other folks had to evacuate on the only one highway going in and out. It was brutal and it's something I'll never forget.

I had a friend that lived in Alaska for a decade. He described in great detail about the cold there and the way you are supposed to breath or you die. He said the law there is, you can shoot to kill someone trying to steal your car.

An Eagle and an Osprey if you like birds.

Yeah... My Ospreys are pretty good too.... My friend is THE BEST Osprey capturer.

These are hard to get... My gannets.

We don't have seabirds here since we are about 1200km from the coast but we do have Harlequin ducks.
These ducks only breed in fast flowing mountain streams.

Whiskey Jacks..... see them in every campground. :)

It took me 6 months of waiting and trying to capture breeding males of the Splendid Fairy-wren on found in the South West Corner of Western Australia...

Any Sea Eagles? They’re really out and about this time of year. There’s a lot of baitfish around creating a lot of activity.
