HOAs seize homes in the USA

...in which case, is owning something like buying a condo/townhouse even worth it?



...seems the 'owner' is nothin' but a glorified renter, paying the mortgage and this additional 'rent'.

Any thoughts comments on this?

Know of anyone in this situation?

Getting a condo does have its risks just like getting a house, but as long as you put down 30-40% with a reasonable APR, you should be ok. My mother got her condo 20 years ago and it's been paid off for nearly a decade.
