I've always let my cats sleep in our room. When I went through my divorce and had the sads, they'd come to comfort me. One on the top of my head and the other on my feet. Cats are more intuitive than most people think.
My guy, as much as he loves cats, doesn't want them in the room. He's asthmatic though and he doesn't want to deal with the dander in the bedroom.
Oh man.....thats gonna be so hard on them. They don't understand at all why they've been banned from the human bed.
And all animals hate being closed out of the bedroom.
Prudey and Eddie have territory spats over the bedroom here.....Eddie wins. He has been here much longer.
Sometimes Prudence gets into the bed by my boyfriends head. Or on the other side of me and Eddie doesn't care...it's really about Eddie's mood.
My boyfriend? Hates cats. I know. And I actually hate people that hate cats. BUT him and I have been in eachothers lives a long time.....we are best friends..we adore eachother.....so he accepts my cat and I let him rant about hating cats lol.
He hates cats because his mom always had them but she didn't keep up with them as well so sometimes they pissed on his clothes and one time he grabbed a shirt and threw it on and didn't know the cat pissed on it. Until he got on the bus and smelled it. He was MORTIFIED. And it was like....5th grade where kids are sensitive to social criticism.
His mother's attitude was basically "oh well you should have smelled it first" and that was his villain arch...if you will....where the hatred of cats began.
That being said....I've seen him reach out to give Prudey scritches and tickles and he has even held her. I never point it out....I just let it be lol.
He let's her in the bedroom and in the bed if she can get past Eddie.
