I'm sure some here are terrified at the prospect but the rest of us are like: "meh". And 'hilarious' might be overselling it, to be honest. Embarrassing? Humiliating? Exposing? Some would no doubt feel all of that. Unless your PM stash is just a bunch of jokes and puns calling them hilarious...

I poast here in Meltdown because this is the sub I like. I poasted this thread for people to share their favorite quotes and added a couple of mine. What you other apes get up to in the thread isn't my responsibility. Nor should it be.

Politics is how policy is *marketed* to the public. Politicians don't write policy. Think tanks and lobbyists and industry reps write policy which is then given to politicians to sell as their or their party's "work" to the oblivious masses. What most people want, what's popular among voters...

Half-assed policy? I'm not sure I know exactly what you're asking.

Only if you never do more than float along on the surface. But it's the submerged areas where the decisions are made and the policies are written and the damage is done. I don't want to be a floater. Floaters are performative at best and obstructions in effect.

I'm not part of that club. I can't imagine needing a gold toilet or a boat that you can park another boat in or an elevator for your multi-level personal vehicle garage but these things exist. How should I know what someone like that wants or why? But they do.

They won't need to produce so much mindless consumer crap that they don't care about anyway and as a bonus it'll free up more resources to enhance their own lifestyles. After the initial investment in machinery and infrastructure the labor is basically free (minus energy costs). A cut in...

Once automation and AI take most of the jobs the elites won't need so many "useless eaters" around getting funny ideas about a world that prioritizes people instead of profit. That's all you need to explain a lot of what's happening.
