College Football 2026

Upset of the weekend was Oklahoma winning. Longhorn Nation is now in mourning.
Bulldogs turned the Crimson Tide and likely take the number one spot in the poll.

My prediction for the top 5:

1) Georgia
2) Notre Dame
3) Miami
4) Texas
5) Ohio State

Book it.

Texas, Alabama and LSU are done in the SEC.

I don't get these ranking thingies. Why did Notre Dame go up so much just for beating the Stanford Transexuals?
If you run up the score, the committee takes that as a sign of a very offensive team. Texas lost by 3 at home to an unranked team. I thought they wouldn't drop that much.

Texas is not going to win The SEC title or championship. Texas is about that Manning dude, who experts think he's a HEISMAN TROPHY candidate because of his uncles. Texas will go to one of those 100 bowl games that no one will watch.

Isn't running up the score when a good team plays a pansy team a time-honored tradition in college football?
ND always pulls their starters after 3 quarters in a rout game. This could have been a 70-0 game.
They get the second and 3rd teams some playing time and experience. See what they got.
Plus, they are Catholics and god wouldn't approve of them being too mean to the opponent.

I think that's pretty standard, I know Oregon has been doing that for years in blowout games, it's a valuable time to let nonstarters get some real-life experience.

Touchdown Jesus! :Happy5:

College football is so complicated today. Who remember when each conference had just 8 to12 teams. For example, The ACC has grown from 8 to 17 teams. I still can't get over Texas, Oklahoma and Texas A&M playing in the SEC. Who remember when The National Champions was decided by The AP and Coaches poll. The playoff system doesn't work. 13 games is all we need to crown a champion.

Back in the day we only watched 4 bowl games. Orange (Miami, Florida or Florida State vs. TBD). Fiesta (TBD vs.TBD, or The ACC Champion). Rose (Big 10 vs. Big 12 , Sugar: (SEC Champion vs. TBD). Citrus (ACC Champion or ACC Runner-up vs. TBD). In the 80's The ACC was the top conference with (North Carolina, Duke, NC State, Wake Forest Maryland, Georgia Tech, Virginia, Clemson

The New Year's Six bowls (Rose, Fiesta, Sugar, Peach, Orange and Cotton) are still expected to host the quarterfinals and semifinals, with the national championship game remaining in January.

Up there! The only bowl games I'd watch. Who wanna watch two teams who won 6 games play in a bowl game? Carolina is going to win 6 games this year under Bill Belichick, I will not be watching that bowl game. I guess in 2027, I will not be watching the playoffs until the Semi-Finals. I don't watch the college championship until the Semi-Finals with the current 12 team playoffs, depending on whose playing.
