I'm not sure it was confusing, there was a bad hike followed by the fumble and just as they were getting ready to resent, BYU challenged a call and then the half was over.

Notre Dame got to the BYU 9-yard line with four seconds to go, but CJ Carr's final-play pass fell incomplete in the end zone as he tried to find Jaden Greathouse.
There was a ton of contact in the end zone between Greathouse and CB Evan Johnson. But pass interference wasn't called.
Watch the ticker closely too. There was still a second left on the clock when the ball hit the turf. Notre Dame also had a case to have another play even without a penalty being called, that its replay officials erred in not adding a second back and giving Notre Dame the opportunity for one more play.

Other than Miami (6-0), the ACC has no potential of winning the national championship. Clemson (4-2) and Florida State (3-4) have not been competitive in years. The ACC will put 10 teams in the 100 bowl games. Belichick and Carolina (4-2) will be bowl eligible by season end. The ACC champions Duke (4-2) must have a soft schedule. The ACC ain't what it used to be. GO MIAMI!

I have a hard time seeing Miami at #1 after they barely beat a Junior College. They're good, but I don't see them as #1.
