Not sure what "broads that look like doods" has to do with fishing, but the thread title got buried quickly. I'm in New Hampshire and curious what kind of fishing people mean here — freshwater lakes and rivers, or saltwater trips? I don't have much experience myself, so I'd rather hear how folks got started and what they'd recommend for a beginner learning locally. The conversation drifted off the original question pretty fast, so it'd be good to bring it back to the actual fishing talk.

Tough decision today but decided to take it up to a local small lake, many pads and weeds. Throw some spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, ...plastics and see if them Bass are hungry. Want to get over to the wild trout stream but she's running a bit high and hard. Maybe tomorrow, and pick up a meal...
