Anyone remember this? With Judy Garland?

I loved this as a child. So did my mother.

And I just wrecked her childhood by informing her that it's about trafficking lol. She went to argue this and just froze and said "well fuck.....it is" lol.

It's crazy how all the kid movies we grew up with have such dark, adult themes. I still show them to my children though.....Squish is into it right now.

She watched Secret of NYMH earlier but I dont think she understands it's about rats who were experimented on and have super intelligence as a result.

That was with the singer Robert Goulet as the voice of the male Cat.
He was Canadian.

Yeah, I liked the old cartoons best.
Beautifully Hand drawn - caint replace them.
Vincent Van Gogh as the theme/backdrop.

New stuff isn't nearly as good.
too much computer animation now.

Meow-rice may be were I get my love of tuxedo cats......though he was a trafficker lol.

Best cartoon villain ever. He is actually the closest to real villain youd encounter in real life. This is true shit.

Amazing how a great actress can bring a cartoon character to life.

Incidentally...from the voice recordings I've heard of you...you have a good voice, Dovey.

You could do voiceovers for a living or extra money.
You're wasting a great gift.

A lotta those YouTube videos could use a nice voice.
Many of those people who do it are terrible or have horrible voices.
Or else they use those shitty robot voices.

There's a market/need for that kinda thing, I think.

I got you on a nostalgia trip didnt I? ♡

Actually, I hadn't thought much about the film until you posted the clip.

I think I saw it once, then forgot about it.

I like the visuals of that film because they're so vibrant, spectacular and well drawn.

It's very artistic, perhaps one of the most visually stunning animated films of all time.

I had only realized it when you posted the initial thread Dovey.

Anyways, after a 2nd glance, I'd say it ranks up there with Fantasia as one the Greatest Classical Animated films of all time.
