We used to be told that the mask protects us and that the N-95's with valves were good. We were also told the masks catch most of the virus. Sure, it catches virus laden droplets, but as you wear the mask, you're exhaling and drying those droplets and they begin to shed. Plus, you're constantly ejecting virus from your lungs that isnt caught in sputum. The masks everyones using are negligible in their ability to prevent the spread.

But the problem is, it's not being done correctly. People are using cloth. They are wearing the same one for hours. They are contaminating their masks, I see people shopping who will grab at their masks.

Viruses will stick to cloth for a long time. That's one of the reasons why we wear those disposable gowns in the hospital.
