Governor Ron DeSantis leads push to loosen child labor laws as immigration crackdown leads to workforce shortage
Hey…whats wrong with exploiting children!! Trump has decimated the department of education, why should children waste their time in schools?
DeSantis along with fellow republicans feel these kids might as well be filling the essential jobs (such as slave labor at Mar-a-Lago) formerly performed by the scores of underpaid immigrant workers donOLD has deported.
DeSantis said “I mean shit they’re not wasting their time in schools so they might as well work” besides we can pay them less than those pesky migrant workers demanded. Some of those deported ingrates expected to be paid as much as $2.00 and hour…WTF
A bill that progressed this week through the Republican-dominated state senate seeks to for child workers, and allow them, in the Florida governor’s words, to step into the shoes of immigrants who supply Florida’s tourism and agriculture industries with “dirt cheap labor”.
The Farmworker Association of Florida, which represents tens of thousands of low-income, immigrant laborers, says about 60% of its membership is undocumented, and most vulnerable to detention and deportation. Others are among half a million Haitians nationwide who Trump has ordered to leave the US by August.
Trump feels these freeloading children really need to STFU and get a fucking job already.
