One of my best friends was thinking of moving to Portugal. He spent the last month there, travelling around the country, north to south.
He called me from Montreal. We were able to talk about Portugal. He loves a lot of it, but he said he was sort of disillusioned. Where he want to live...which is on the coast, somewhere...didn't offer the diversity he was looking for. In food, specifically. I think people from California get used to living a certain way here and having all sorts of opportunities in food, and entertainment.
He doesn't want to be boxed in. And only in one month, he felt boxed in. He's financially very well off, so I told him to just take off and travel. A month here, a month there...and come home stateside in between. He thinks that's what his final decision is going to be.
