I just tried it for about 5 minutes.
I got one stack up to 14.
I am sure I could get it to 20 with a few more tries.

I was goofing around with this and getting the stacks up so high that they were hitting my 15 foot ceiling.
Now I am doing a variation of this where to add to the stack, you have to drop the new M&Ms from at least 1 foot above the stack. It is way tougher. Way tougher. The highest I got so far was 5, but with a little more practice the sky is the limit.
