Is the US National Debt just a Big Lie?

Prior to the US Election the Republicans kept fretting about the 'out of control' US National Debt & deficits.

And yet the other day, President Trump announces right after the election, $500 Billion to fund AI

So apart from wanting to buy Greenland and take over the Panama Canal, there's all this new funding for a supposedly cash strapped US gov. Where do they get all this money from if they're cash strapped broke?

"There's not enough money!" the moan.

And not enough to pay for social programs and Social Security

...but suddenly....there is enough money for big capital projects that favor Big Corporations.

'murcans...hate ta break it to you...but you're being scammed.

The Super Rich in America hide all their money from you which they've ill gotten through an unfair taxation system.

They have a lot more than they claim, plus they hide it away so no one can touch it.

I noticed that the NeoCons claimed Kamala Harris' plans would cost too much.

But if you add up the bill for all this new spending Trump has proposed for his, it's way more than Harris even promised to spend on hers.

You folks have been lied to. Trump has done a complete rug pull on the vast majority of US citizens.

Well if I were the average American, I'd demand my fair share.

Instead of giving $500 billion grant to corporations, US citizens should get it.

$500 billion/300-350 million = at least $1500 per US citizen

Given that all this money is going towards one small group, I'd say you're getting a bad deal from the Trump administration @Admin.

I'm not one to defend this administration, so hear me out.

There's more that can be done collectively with $500 billion than can be done with $1500 given to individuals. Poof it's gone quick with most Americans.

With $500 billion we could put a dent in student debt, freeing young Americans from crushing debt. Then they could maybe afford to buy homes, for example.

I think the wealthy in your country have a lot more money than they claim.

And they hide it in places so its safe from the IRS and prying eyes.

This is very similar to what happened in the Roman Empire

as that empire fell apart, there were all these claims that there wasn't enough money to fix monuments fund their army, or public works projects.

But now archaeologists are finding millions of dollars in gold coins buried in someone's back yard or under the streets.

So as it turns out the wealthy Romans were hiding this money.

I honestly think this is what is happening in the United States today

Nah just cut the grandparents SS and Medicare, and then America can afford to pay for Elon’s mission to Mars!

Trump was hiding money in Panama, if you recall the Leaked Documents from the banks down there and the ensuing scandals

The Trump Administration is just a nice tax holiday/subsidy for Billionaires.

No wonder they are so jubilant these days

All smiles. And they fully expect the average American to subsidize them..

According to them, it was bad for the economy when Kamala Harris wanted programs to help the middle class, but I've actually heard corporate insiders say that more debt is good for the economy and the typical American or Canadian consumer can take on even more. Officially they claim that consumers are spending too much and should live within their means, but that's what they want. Say one thing, but do another.

so you're right, that's how these Oligarchs get their subsidy, it's from the Middle Class who chug away to barely keep it going so they can have theirs @jack

Make the working & middle class suffer so they'll work even harder to subsidize them.

Developing/advancing technology is a good thing. $500 billion is a lot of money. The focus needs to be on spending that money wisely.

The Ruling Elites don't want the Middle/working classes to be out of debt.

Because otherwise they can't control them.

Better to have a leash around their necks or a ball on their ankle so they can't run free.
