He launched a lot of careers his band was the Berklee of British blues.. Many years ago, August 1970 pretty sure, I was lucky enough to see/hear John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers along with the Elvin Bishop Band at Fillmore West. That was a small venue too, no seating more like a gymnasium. Wonderfull show.
