My kids are no longer in public schools. However my oldest is gay and is starting college. For now she works and knocks out pre reqs at the community college.
But once she finishes her first degree, she will be attending uni. And I'm afraid for her. Because growing up I defended and fought a battle against gay people being bullied. One of my best friends growing up was ruthlessly bullied for being gay.....he didnt even come out until he was an adult.
So we finally reach a point where we dont bully and ostracize people over homosexuality, so here comes gender identity to do exactly that. Bully, attack and ostrisize gay people. Especially lesbians.
Also I have daughters and 5 years ago we lived in a world that clearly defined us and provided us with the civil rights and protections based on our biology that women before us passionately fought for us to have. We are much less safe today.
Most kids are jumping on this trans train via groups from the internet. If you look at those, you will see how they present transgenderism and how they love bomb young people. Kids are told their families are abusive if they dont put them on puberty blockers.
If you had to pull your kids out of a public school because the schools decided to start teaching from the foundations of a religion, and started teaching ideologies over facts....and its was something intensely harmful, would you not be outraged?
A lot of the parents who are fighting school districts right now are not just conservatives.
I would definately take the side that parents who do not want their children ideologically subverted by these politcal issues who pull their children should not be forced to tax fund the school and they should be able to use that money for their childs education.
Our kids shouldnt be a politcal issue! Look at the amount of children and minors who are being put on puberty blockers and being damaged for life. This isn't just some silly disagreement or something that can be ignored. It's to the point where some schools are literally taking kids to drag shows without informing the parents. And the state removing children from families who do NOT put their kid through the gender clinic.
Are you aware that in many states, if a 12 year old starts telling a doctor or therapist they think they are in the wrong body (something theyve picked up from online)....they HAVE to, by law, affirm that? Any questioning or exploring the issue is now considered "conversion therapy". We have these minors getting sterilized and becoming lifelong medical patients and coming forward to say this was a huge mistake.
They cant come back from this, Sea. It's a human rights crime what is being done to kids who are no position to be making these sorts of life changing decisions.
And there are parents out there who are intentionally transing their small children....like trans munchausen. There are homophobic parents who are transing their kids so instead of having a gay son or daughter....they have hetro daughter or son. And doctors will go ahead and provide these meds and surgeries. I know of a woman who had endometriosis and wanted a hysterectomy and she couldnt get one.... for endometriosis. So she told them she was trans and got the hysterectomy on that basis. It's insane. They wont do these surgeries for women who need them....but they will do it for minors who are jumping on a current TREND.
It's been shown for years that children who show signs of actual gender dysphoria grow out of it during puberty....97 percent. Its VERY rare for them to have persistent dysphoria past puberty. And no this isnt the same as "they feel safe coming out now". This isnt the same as being gay. This isnt the same as a cross dressing fetish or autogynophilia. Gender dysphoria is a very uncomfortable mental illness that causes extreme distress and anxiety and depression over ones appearence. Its similar to people who suffer eating disorders and have a very distorted view of their bodies.
No one is against transpeople. This isnt about that. People oppose this insane ideology and the transing of minors. And the loss of our protections to allow things like self identification.
What we are doing in society is so destructive and is causing so much harm....irreversible harm. And it's completely changing the structure of society. When it starts being pushed in schools and legislation and we have legitimate online cults called "glitter families" and such an intense effort to throw wedges between children and their parents, we cannot just ignore that. I'm invested in the world my children are living in.
All I'm doing here is asking some simple and basic questions. If I have to either accept all of this or be labeled a heretic or witch of the current church....a "terf" or a "transphobe"
......I would like it make sense. Its unreasonable for people to be expected to just adopt beliefs that are based on complete falsehoods and emotionally manipulated or bullied into accepting it or being silenced.
I just wanna know when doctors assign a gender to a baby. Because these "lessons" being given to children start off with this "gender assigned at birth" claim.
