Believe it or not for years I was in a quail & pheasant hunting club. My friend bred and raised labs for retrieving so we'd buy quail or pheasants or whatever birds he wanted then bait his property , quail were the best as the covey up after being released. We'd take his dogs in the next day or so and we hunt they'd retrieve , and of course we would leave a generous amount behind. Guys whom wanted to hunt either with their own dogs or city slickers that used his would pay him. I'd go along and assist and at the end do most of the bird cleaning. It was fun we had a generator an an electric wok , hot plate etc. set up and if the " hunters" wanted we'd have some game ( cooked by me )and beers ( extra fee of course ) we paid $2.25 a quail usually and would let 100 go charge 2 -4 guys a pretty good buck for the adventure. And I'm still a bird lover...lol
