It is a monumental disgrace. Honestly, when I first came here, people's faces would light up with a big smile when I told them "No, I'm not English. I'm American." Now, they all get a horrified look on their faces and always, always, ask me, "WHY did Americans vote for Trump???????"

Actually, I left during Trump 1. And I had been planning it for a couple of years, starting in 2017. But Trump was just the nail in the coffin for my relationship with the USA. Bernie 2016 started it.

I was very politically active and volunteered for a lot of things. I was also a union rep for my university for a decade. I watched Occupy spring up and then just die with no real change. When the DNC railroaded Bernie in 2016, I just gave up. And then some horrible stuff happened in higher education. Things just kept getting worse.
