Hundreds of years  (before civilization ) living in a place with Indians, bears and big cats, and the idea of owning guns was for self defence. Oz doesn't have man eating large animals like that although abo were spear chuckers. The only place we really need them now is in our, "top end" against salt water crocodiles. I saw these two bastards trying to fix something in a hip height flood on TV, one was doing the fixing and the other was standing guard very nervously with a single shot rifle, cursing our gun laws. He had a point. He didn't stand a chance against a salty with his pissy single shot rifle.</p></blockquote><p></p>
