Sometimes, a movie character or a scene is a perfect caricature of real people we see these days.
This is one of my favorite movies, The Day After, from 1983
In this part, the missiles are already in the air and the US is having its last moments before being obliterated by nuclear exchange with Russia.
And yet, the woman, who refuses to accept the inevitable doom, insists in acting like nothing's happening, she just wants to keep living her trivial, carefree life until the last moment.
And her husband has to grab and drag her into the basement...
