The National Guard should not be called upon to pose for photographs and intimidate residents to make Trump look tough on crime,” the VoteVets advisor angrily pointed out.</p><p></p><p>"Trump himself refused to activate the Guard when our Capitol was under attack; he should be embarrassed he is activating them now - specifically in blue state cities - to be the shiny object during an already failed presidency," Eaton concluded his comments.</p><p></p><p>Retired Major General Eaton made his remarks before this morning’s hastily called assembly of all of the nation’s senior military personnel where Trump and his newly re-named Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, further outlined their plans to illegally transform our country’s military into a domestic occupation force while abandoning our commitments to our European allies at a point when they face the greatest threat from Russian aggression since the end of the Cold War.</p><p></p><p>The only comfort the American public has left at this point is the knowledge that at least some former senior military officials (and hopefully at least some of the active-duty generals and admirals) recognize the danger that Trump presents to our democracy and to the stability of the modern world order. </p><p></p><p>If you are outraged or rightfully frightened by Trump’s authoritarian misuse of America’s armed forces, please like and share this post!</p></blockquote><p></p>
