Tho we often disagree, I enjoy reading your posts, Dovey. You oughta write an autobiography about the life and times you grew up. Seems ya wrote a book's worth on these forums already. Like Blurt, you are a product of an fascinating period in history. Blurt is the product of a 'Quiet Revolution' of the 1960s in French Canadian history where the environment he grew up in transformed from a religious one to a modern secular society. Whereas you appear to be a product of the 1980s or the Reagan Revolution which I believe was a severe transition from the free and easy time of the 1960s. I think this was a very harsh time socially in US and world history and it is often reflected in your attitudes. Children who grew up in the early 1980s had it much harder than those who grew up in the 1960s. There were a lot of government cutbacks in the 80s and a much meaner stingier government. The 1980s was a mean time. Other than those at the top who benefited from it substantially, Reaganomics was hard on many people. Especially the working class and their families. I wondered back then in the 80s how children born during that period would turn out. Anyways, beneath your somewhat strident dialogue, I hope there's a Dove left n there somewhere. ;-)
