And, on a related note: As Dershowitz pointed out, it was bullshit. This was a lawfare attack with no teeth and only one objective -- to paint a political smear on Trump.
If the charges were legitimate, Trump would be doing time. The fact that he's not is down to the fact that the case was bullshit from the foundation up.
The fact that Merchand signaled what the sentence would be before issuing it is exactly what Dershowitz says it was: An excuse to keep SCOTUS from digging in and shitcanning the whole fucking affair.

Lets review, Trump is a convicted felon, the only reason he is not being fined and or jailed is because he is the President Elect, in today’s America we no longer have equal justice under the law.
