As someone from the Netherlands, I mourn the loss of a good ally. But on the other side Im also angry. Talking about our leaders like: “They are kissing my ass” is just unacceptable. Personally Im boycotting everything from the US. I hope you guys come back from these mistakes and I will be open to restoring my faith in the US if you guys come around. Until then, good luck fighting the whole world at once.

I'm from West Germany, and it is actually insane to see the shift in people's views on global politics. For over 70 years it was basically a given that the United States are our closest ally and a role model - that was just an accepted fact. And now within just 4 months Trump has managed to obliterate this fact and shift the general consensus so dramatically that most people here now see China as a closer, more reliable and more valuable ally than the US. And the most worrisome part is - I don't think that Trump cares or even understands what he has just done.

The Europeans are sufficiently advanced that they can make most of their products as good or better than the US. So theyll probably end up circumventing the US. Plus if they get Canada to supply them with oil & LNG Europe will become totally self sufficient without having to rely on the US & Russia for anything.
So that can only mean that the US & Russia will have to form closer relations which will of course turn off many Americans.

We're still the biggest economy, followed by China.
The global "south" is up and coming. It's going to be a whole new world.
Check out Richard Wolff on YouTube. I listened to a 3 hour podcast. He made compelling arguments.
I edited my post above. I think the EU/China alliance is a huge threat to the US. I like Wolff. I'll check out what he's saying.
