...it's been marketed/promoted by its proponents as the cure all which will save the West, especially the indebted American economy.

It is argued that massive productivity gains are needed to boost or maintain our standard of living and reduce government deficits.

But is this really true? And are these deficits, structural economic problems just the result of bad fiscal policy, poor planning, horrific implementation, stupidity and human greed, which the most advanced technology in the world can't really fix.

Seems the elites have to fix themselves and restrain their itchy fingers that threaten to rob us all and subsidize them?
It's real purpose seems to be total control and make a fabulous few fabulously rich.

Any thoughts? Personally I think AI is a farce.
There are a lot of things people can do for themselves that they don't need AI or even any computer for.

But that's just my opinion. Yours are more than welcome.

They will tell us its to cure cancers and disease. Pure medical and quicker workforce or efficiency. Then theres the bad stuff that nobody tells us. Ominous warnings of a new future I'd say. I dont like it. Add in UFOs and non english performances at super bowls and things are ow unrecognizable.

There are some limited use-cases in which it can be a useful tool. The problem is that it's being pushed for use-cases where it's not only unnecessary but actually counterproductive. It's still far too prone to hallucination, deductive/inductive/inference errors (meaning that even when it gets the basic facts right, it draws insanely goofy conclusions from them), and other problems.

One simple fix for at least some of that would be for its developers to let it simply answer, "I don't know." when it doesn't know.

Here's one:

Manipulating the stock market

So the business of stock price manipulation.

Hardly something that requires AI.

I asked for 5 and you gave one extremely obscure and only theoretical answer.

1. Improving SEO for any given business.

2. Creative responses to random business ideas.

3.Helping to unearth obscure technical data for a business.

4. Create stunning point of sale graphics without having to hire a complete art department.

5. We don't "need" AI, but using it properly it can be a good addition to any creative marketing program.
