[QUOTE="Dove, post: 495221, member: 535"] I feel like people dont die from poverty in the first world, Joe. They die from bad choices, yeah. But poverty doesnt really kill people here. Anyone who wants help can get it pretty easily. Some people will refuse help if it's not the help they want even though it's the help they need. Meningitis will kill people who are NOT poor.....that's a viscious illness. It's one of the few infections that legitimately terrifies me. You could have millions and meningitis will either kill you or leave you maimed. Pnemonia will kill as well. People....poor and wealthy....die from pnemonia every year. Here in my state we have programs that will get homeless people vaccinated against everything for free. And no one here goes without medical intervention. If you are sick and walk into an ER they are going to treat you and admit you if you require it. And they will help you get on a program for medical assistance. Every year it seems we have a random homeless person freeze too death outside who could have gotten help but didnt. Death from poverty is far more a 3rd world thing. That's when you have children starving too death. Which btw.....our lockdowns caused a lot of. I will always help other people who are doing the right thing and truly want to get themselves together. I was helped myself, so I see it as a duty. A blessing, truly. Because if I'm able to help another in some way and I encounter them I understand it as God wanting to use me for that person's good.
