Uncharted is a movie adapted from a video game directed by Ruben Fleischer. It stars Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg.

If you're looking for a fun, funny movie--this epic joy ride hits both those notes. Not taking itself too seriously the film entertains with beautiful locations and funny bone humor usually in situations that are dire. This is one of those features that you should see on a lazy Saturday afternoon after you've mowed the grass or trying to decide where to take the kids for an entertaining matinee.

The movie is about Sam Drake, played by Tom Holland looking for his brother after they were separated years ago. Both of them love treasure and the history that goes along with it. Sam is recruited by Victor "Sully" Sullivan a treasure hunter played by the iconic Mark Wahlberg. Sam agrees to help Victor as Victor knew Sam's brother.

This film is never takes itself serious and you know this when the opening scene in the movie is Sam waking up in the middle of the sky with his foot caught in a cargo net trailing behind a flying C-34 10,000 feet up in the air. From there the movie gets more unbelievable but it is entertaining. If you go into this with a logical mind, you will not enjoy this movie. This film was intended to keep you or your little ones preoccupied for 116 minutes. Nothing in this feature is in the realm of reality.

The CGI is fantastic and Tom Holland's jokes at the wrong moments in the wrong situations are hilarious to say the least. He and Mark Wahlberg work very well together, bouncing insults and jokes off one another in most of this feature. There is chemistry between the two and that's probably because they're both really good actors in a big budget flop.

As I stated, the movie is entertaining but the script is horrible, the whole movie uses outdated cliche's that we've all seen a million times over and some of the problem solving makes no sense at all. But no one is supposed to watching this movie for those things, you have to turn off your mind and just go where this movie takes you.

At the end of the day, there are better movies and worse one's out there. What I can say about this film though is that it's fun and entertaining, kinda like a Slurpee before it melts. This will never win an Academy Award but then again most movies don't. If you're looking for some Summertime fun, this movie is for you. Just don't expect much. Now you can stream this on HBO.
