Well, populism is just another way of conveying the idea of Vox Populi. The voice and will of the people. This is why Democrats and their media wing are hilarious when they bemoan populism and in the next breath wail about "threat(s) to Democracy!" -- as if it's anything other than ludicrous to defend democracy against itself.

To be fair, a balance should be struck between the perils of "tyranny of the majority" and "tyranny of the minority"; right now, the Democrat party errs so hard toward the latter that they've lost the confidence of the majority of voters.

That's a lesson which very few of even the more level heads in that party are keen to take to heart, and one which the foaming-at-the-mouth fringe summarily reject.

Trump has to hit the ground running. Which he has demonstrated already he is both capable and willing to do. Mexico and Canada have both bowed down to kiss the ring. They now are in a holding pattern awaiting their next set of instructions as to what to clutch their pearls about.

I think we might be winding back to them reeling over his cabinet picks. The perils of nominating people who share his vision for American. That is truly a the real threat to democracy. it simply defies belief that America would stand for a travesty so egregious when Trump does something every single president has done since the founding of our country.

There is a lot to get done and only 2 years of nearly guaranteed resistance free ability here. But if he can effect change he has all but guaranteed a Vance/ ? presidency in 2028

Bernie is my Senator. I've met him in person and spoken directly to him on many occasions. He actually listens.

I think he's brilliant tbh. He took Burlington and turned it from a shithole town to one of the top 10 destinations during his tenure as Mayor. Now that we have Phil Scott as governer, it's a shithole again. Worst fentanyl and homeless problem I've ever seen. Can't even walk the streets safely any more at night.
