I was at a loss for words as the windstorm reaching 100 mph plagued our city and several fires raged. I was heartbroken to find out Pacific Palisades had been leveled by the most devastating fires this city has ever endured. I have friends whose parents lost homes in this community. It was such a wonderful community filled with families with children and animal lovers.

Watching the horses and wild animals escape with their littles is especially difficult. We are all keeping our pets inside and setting out water buckets for the exhausted, displaced travelers passing through.

Trump blaming Gavin for this has to be the lowest of his all time LOWS. The man is not a leader. He is an assclown always pushing his own agenda.

I will say that despite his horrific, unsolicited and HIGHly inappropriate response; I have watched this city come together. I’ve watched food trucks and restaurants step up to feed first responders and the people who lost everything. I’ve watched Jaime Lee Curtis become the voice of the people donating $1mil to relief efforts after her home burned to the ground and the church where she found sobriety 25+ years ago was destroyed.

There was sooooo much smoke I was wearing a N95 mask and soaking towels to put along the doors and windows trying to keep this out of my home. We had hoses and a pressure washer ready to soak this place if the evacuation order ever came… which thank GOD it never did.

There was panic in everyone’s voice as we all touched base to make sure everyone we knew was ok. Cell phone emergency notice warning alarms going off everywhere you turned multiple times each day… with very little reliable media coverage available due to high winds and the no fly zone order since Biden was in town.

I have never seen anything like this in ALL my years…. thankfully LOVE is now filling the smoke filled air as the skies slowly go back to blue.

You elected the dolts who fucked everything up, Murdy. You should have listened to good and wholesome conservatives like me.

But I'm glad you're OK. ;)

Gurk puh-leeeeze… we all know Trump sent drones to start these fires so he could sneak into prison and sword fight with Diddy and R Kelly.

Luigi sent me a love letter weeks ago describing the shank he was carving out of a toothbrush… :GiggleBitch:

So many historic places have been destroyed. Sunset Blvd the Broadway play has ran for 29 years and most of the homes on this street that flank the Palisades and Santa Monica have been destroyed. The Moonshadows on PCH, where we spent my grandparents 50th and 60th wedding anniversaries, has been leveled. Will Rogers state park, where I packed picnics and spent sooooooo many Sundays with my children since they were littles on the polo field where Clark Gable, Bing Crosby and Walt Disney played is gone along with the ranch estate home and grand stables.

My only happiness in any of this is that the cafe on PCH formerly owned by Thema Todd… the dilapidated building that I have admired since I was a child… has miraculously survived. It was renovated while I was in Seattle:

I have friends who lost their home in PP, and several friends who had to evacuate. And my favorite cafe in PP, Cafe Vida, was leveled, so the memories of that place and all the good company and meals I had there are flooding back in. I also hiked in the Santa Monica Mountains, Temescal Canyon, right there, maybe 3 or 4 times a week for a decade. That area has been badly burned. It breaks my heart. And the animals, oh my god. Just awful. The whole thing is just horrific.

And, sorry, but I'm going to be political here. Instead of acting like a statesman as incoming POTUS, Trump is out there blaming the State of California and whinging and pointing fingers all over the place. Solidifies my hatred of that man. Classless, lowlife, POS.

I do have to say, given how difficult it is to drive out of PP on a good day, I am surprised and very glad there weren't more deaths.

I'm glad you're okay.

@LotusBud ~ I know 10 people who lost their homes in PP. My HS bestie and her husband lost their childhood homes and neighborhoods. They ignored the evacuation orders in Agora Hills and saved their home with garden hoses. I’m so proud of them. We would have done the same here.

We are making and packing up 100 sandwiches right now to donate. We are going to try to get in and see what’s left.

LA has Mexicans…. This city will be rebuilt by Memorial Day *prays*
