I just sent BF a message asking him to demod me. This pedo shit has been going on for almost a year now and nothing has changed. Clearly, my efforts to enforce an important rule were futile. I've talked with BF on many occasions about this and nothing has happened. I just get told what I want to hear. Maybe there was a plot all along to get me to step down, I don't know, but I'm done trying to sweep sand off of a beach. Sorry people, I failed.

That certainly didn't help but BF gave some me fairly good ones like shoutbox banning, locking threads and other stuff like that. If I was him I'd be a little reluctant to assign some of the more effective permissions too. Oh well, c'est la vie.

That's silly. You know there are only a couple of posters here that would abuse the mod panel and you ain't one of them. SB banning and locking threads are good tools.

I would think Assboxing powers would have been a happy medium. Sure, maybe you can't ban a fool, but some of them could certainly be assboxed pending owner review.

The problem, as I see it, is that some of the fuckers were banned. And then, for no reason that I can fathom, were let back in.

True enough, you can't please everyone. It's a matter of choosing which segment to please. In this case, I'd characterize the choice as being between the Tard Brigade who won't shut up about the subject I needn't and shan't mention, and... everybody else.

I'd have no qualms whatsoever about displeasing that former group. But that's just me.

FWIW, I firmly believe that, had you had all the requisite tools at your disposal, you'd have had as much success in the role as you deserved to.

I must say, Alty, I think you did as fine a job as you could given the board clientele.

I remember we used to give people the Mod title with no buttons just to watch them run around the forum lording it over the inferior plebeians. It was very entertaining. I think we may have done that with Flynn.
