These types of things make my life good.

Last night, my grandson burst out of his room at my house, crying. I can tell by his cry that he's mostly tired. It's late, about 9:30.

He runs to me and I ask him what happened. He tells me between tears that Tango (orange tabby) scratched him. "I was just cuddling him and he scratched me!' he said indignantly.

I asked where, he sticks his arm out to me and I can't see anything. I don't have my readers on, my bad. He is now frustrated and points out the scratch that's on the back of his hand. Ah, I see it, I tell him. Let's go get a cotton pad and clean that up, thank goodness it's just in the surface and not serious.

My partner, who can still be very professorial in his demeanor, says "Well. cats tend to play a little roughly with one..."

My grandson thoroughly disgusted with my guy not reading the room pipes up with 'I don't need facts right now!"

I start laughing my ass off and say "Yeah, he doesn't need your facts right now". My guy is laughing and parodies my grandson with "You don't need no stinkin' facts right now! "

We laugh about the whole thing while I clean out the scratch. I ask him if he was just sad because his feelings got hurt. He nods his head. Then, after the comforting I get to explain that the cat most likely didn't want to be cuddled and did what cats do.

A couple of weeks ago, stopping by to pick the boy up to go see Superman with him, I rush into he house and bypass my granddaughter in the playpen to have a word with my daughter. I see her start to pout, then her chin starts to wobble and tears well and she starts to cry. Her feelings got hurt because I didn't run to lavish her with love like every other time. It was so cute. I pick her up, cover her little face with kisses and hugs...and she's happy.

Good life.

They will be and their lives will never be the same when we're gone. They'll still be happy and have good lives. but never quite the same.
What drives me crazy is my son won a prestigious award affording him pretty much his choice of college, he followed his girlfriend to a lesser one ..

Fuck off, it’s not the thread to cry in
I think he's just alluding to how differently some people define happiness.

I don't feel happier when I buy things other than in a fleeting moment of "look what I got."

That doesn't much happen these days for me at all.

Yeah, that kind of sucks, especially if they break up.

A good friend of mine from college mutually broke up with her high-school bf during college. After grad and law school, they started dating again in their later 20s. They ended up marrying and having a family.

I just try to understand where people are coming from if they aren't completely insane and/or obnoxious.

And we don't seem to agree on what that is, you and I.

Some things you look past even if it's on the "wrong" thread and apparently you think I do the same.

Go figure.

Comedy isn't for everyone, Lily.
...and yet, why else are we here?
