As far as the P.I. goes, just like everything else in life, it depends on how one was brought up. Usually, real life and outside influences play a big part in someone's outlook on personal information being disseminated.

I think the overall moral to the story is the trust issue. After having some P.I. blasted on a forum, as a poster I wouldn't want to frequent that place as my bonafides are out for all to see. Why would I hang out on a forum where I can be hammered on with my own P.I. and have nothing to shoot back with? That kind of thing will kill a forum faster than admin running through the cocks at his local hobo camp near the tracks.
