I have a culinary question. Yes, I know I could go to the web, but I was hoping to get answers from semi-real people.

I just recently roasted a marinated pork loin. Cooked it per the instructions. I let it cook and then wrapped it up in tin foil and put it onto the refrigerator.

My question is, with that pork loin after cooling down, and sliced thin, will it work as sandwich meat? Has anyone done this before? I got this idea after doing the same with chicken breast. I'm asking only because I'm waiting for the pork loin to cool down. Do I don't know how it will taste cold and used as thin slices of sandwich meat.

I had some leftover pork loin roast today.

It was awesome heated-up.....but equally awesome cold.

Nope not with pork , especially if there's blood in it , bacteria forms fast and parasites.. chicken I always chop up and add salt pepper and mayo and a glob of bbq

Cooked pork? I have had no issue eating it one or two days after cooking it.

Oh, sweetie. Nothing better than a properly cooked pork loin.

You probably should have had a few nice slices from the roast with a pile of mashed potatoes and, of course, a topping of hand made gravy from the drippings of the roast.

And yes, the leftover roast slice will make fine sandwiches.

Good God! Are you STILL learning to cook, little girl?

If you want to make sandwich meat out of a pork loin, just crockpot a nice loin in a special marinade you have to discover yourself (start with the basic "McCormick" shit and learn from there), and then fork it to shreds when tender and heap on your favorite bun.

Food ain't that hard, but better food comes with figuring out what you like.

Its still disrespectful eating leftover pork like that, microwave it its so much better little bit of gravy

Okay. As I try to wrap my mind around your comment, I'm only left with only one conclusion...we have two very different outlooks when it comes to the culinary arts.

Just the simple fact that you'd throw any kind of protein into a microwave of all things, does indeed show your lack of or disregard for the golden rule of re-heating meat, never in a microwave, unless it's mixed in with veggies or a starch...i.e...Chinese food or Teriyaki...etc.

Really grimm, and I thought I was the worst cook out here. Tell me you don't put ketchup on your steak do you?

@Flynn

As long as I'm around, you're safe from that title.

When I'm single, either between wives or girlfriends, which thankfully constitutes a relatively small percentage of my life, and forced to shop for food and cook for myself, I don't purchase anything that doesn't come in a box with clear instructions on the back.

I personally do not see the "Joy In Cooking."

It's messy at times, overly complicated, no universal measuring units, and running around the market collecting ingredients like it's a scavenger hunt is not my cup of tea.

I can relate to much of what you're posting. Not the wives and girlfriend part though. For me the prepackaged foods are just soo very unhealthy. So, I am forced to cook healthy on most days. The days of opening up a can of cold Chef Boyardee ravioli along with some saltine crackers are long gone.
