I get no one shedding tears for Ian I don’t really either , but I think prisons should do a better job of protecting at risk inmates. As far as I know Ian wasn’t sentenced to death.

I agree. Just like the Whitey Bulger deadly beating when he arrived to a Federal prison from a processing center prison and was allowed to be around general population inmates. He was notorious and had a rat jacket so he should have been "walk alone" protective custody (PC) inmate. But that's the Federal system for you which is the most careless in the nation.
