If your country doesn't need the oil, it certainly needs to control it & its price in order to maintain its global Empire. That's what this invasion was really about. It also revealed that US political and economic supremacy is dependent on controlling the World's oil supply.
Actually from a political and Economic pov, Trump's invasion/gamble might possibly turn out to be a brilliant move

Your President wanted another American century. Well the invasion of Venezuela might allow it to continue.
Mind you, your country will pay a huge political price as well. Loss of moral prestige, global presence & a greater alignment with less savory political leaders and nations. America's political alliances are moving to the Global South not East and West. so moving forward America's allies will be more like Israel, the wealthy Arab Gulf States rather than Canada and Europe.
Oh except to see more Venezuelan immigrants in your streets who'll eventually become American citizens. These are the ones ICE and Trump wanted to throw out of the United States.
