Try putting the 'moderation' back in Moderator for a change.
You might actually turn out to be useful.
Or at least effective.

From context -things current and former mods here have poasted- it's my understanding that moderators at BF have a somewhat limited toolkit. I don't know the specifics, obviously, but that's the impression with which I've been left.

That's all it meant.

That's really interesting.

Not really, but let me add my 16 cents worth. I always thought "mods" had the ability to move, lock, and delete threads. Also, it was my understanding with that came the ability to see I.P.'s, and all the I.P.'s associated with a single poster. Additionally, a mod had the ability to ban a poster, if only for 24 hours.

When Lily and I were mods, I was able to see I.P. addys, ban a poster, move, delete, and lock threads. The only thing we didn't have permission to do was change usernames. I guess times have changed. That's too bad, because I think every poster should see the behind the scenes at a forum like this one. Being a mod isn't all fun and games. Some of these past mods had issues playing favoritism, lets hope this new set of ding-dongs just do their fucking jobs.
 
Maybe it's different for different people but what you're describing sounds to me like a pretty standard or even somewhat generous panel for mod, especially ones selected seemingly at random from the general userbase.

I stand corrected.

That was just my experience. Maybe at other places mods don't have that many permissions.

I was just stating it's sad if BF had to cut off permissions because of morons that he himself picked out.
