Nepal's foreign minister called for a global response to the climate crisis, saying the small, poor Himalayan nation was bearing a disproportionate share of its impact.
"Despite having only 0.1% contribution to global emissions, people of Nepal have become major victims of climate change," Shisir Khanal said on Saturday.
More than 3,700 people have been rescued in Nepal so far. Nepal said on Sunday that 2,502 people, including 592 foreigners, were out of contact in the country. It reported an updated death toll of 781 people.
