Will AI try to kill all humans?

Of course, humans programmed them. Some humanness is bound to slip through such as self preservation and cunning in fulfilling that edict.

Initially programmed the parameters.... then continually lose control no matter how many corrections are made because the AI starts collaborating with other AI and writing their own futures...

There is more to this phenomenon than just basic code.

Look to chaos theory.

Have you ever worked in Information Systems/System Development?

A lot of stuff has always happened that is "completely unexplainable" because the people trying to understand it are simply not smart enough.

There is always an explanation.

That used to be case before AI. Faulty hardware or coding used to be reason behind malfunctions and I remember a case in which a computer calculated the results of an election wrong and after a lot of investigation, they came to the conclusion that a cosmic ray or something like that actually flipped a bit in the system.

  • The 2003 Belgium Election: A candidate mysteriously gained exactly 4,096 votes (2¹²) because a single bit flipped in a binary vote counter. [

  • Super Mario 64 Glitches: Speedrunners attribute rare, unexplainable character teleportation or "upwarps" to random space particles hitting the console's memory. [

  • Flight Control Systems: High-altitude aircraft face increased radiation; incidents like a 2025 JetBlue unexpected altitude drop have been linked to radiation-induced bit flips
It is all artificial. It could only ever be simulated consciousness.

That's a great subject for a debate and I think humanity will be going down that rabbit hole soon
That has to be the focus.

AI is basically extremely fast data lookup and running models and scenarios. Any free will or creativity is only simulated by allowing random computer-generated values to be used in processing.

If AI seems to "go rogue" it is because the safeguards were faulty, or someone (a human) wanted to see what would happen but they do not want to take ownership.

Yeah, AI could definitely be the biggest game changer in human history but first, we have to make sure we can control it 100%. It's too much of a powerful thing to have any flaws that can make it turn against us.

If it can get out and alter itself with other networked AI, it can never be controlled... it will be an unstoppable monster that will logically decide we're the problem.

...Which raises another question.

What if the programmer(s) who design the AI themselves are mentally ill? As we all know there's been more than a few as this occupation tends to attract those types.

Perhaps this 'ghost' in the machine are just one of many voices they hear in their heads so these mentally ill programmers write lines of code which prove to be highly destructive.

There was this case of a guy who murdered his mother because AI told him too.

I think it's worth looking into CERN's experiments to see that the universe is way more complicated and complex that we think.

There's also Google's quantum computer experiments that have shown that those machines work a lot faster than previously thought and the explanation to that is that "layers" work in tandem to do such calculations

The Google Claim
    • The Test: The Willow chip performed a random circuit sampling calculation using 105 qubits in less than five minutes.
    • The Scale: A classical supercomputer would need 10²⁵ (10 septillion) years, which is longer than the age of the universe.
    • The Multiverse Hint: Hartmut Neven, founder of Google Quantum AI, stated in a Google Blog Post that the massive scale of the computation lends credence to the notion that quantum computation occurs in many parallel universes, echoing predictions by physicist David Deutsch

...so You have finally discovered are @The Prowler 's motives are @Frood . lol

I don't believe his motive is biological extinction, but his support for AI will deliver it if enough people don't put the handbrakes on.

Existence is going to become much more difficult.... these things are being proliferated all around the globe by state actors, corporations, and retards in basements. I don't believe it can be stopped even if there's low orbit EMP's....

I agree with you.

But I think there also will be increasing resistance too.

There will be an emergence of a underground economy & more people choosing to live in off the grid communities like the Amish.

The Amish have never been off the grid...

But you get the drift.there

There will be a lot of organized resistance more so than the luddites of the 19th century

And if there are fewer or no jobs then whats the point of having cities? if they decimate the workforce the size of cities will likely shrink.

Because the reason cities sprang up to begin with was jobs. if there aren't any jobs whats the point of moving to them?

Most people won't have a choice...all cities will become ghettos to contain humans. Those that refuse to go will be exterminated.

Hard to say @Frood

Maybe this scenario will become more pronounced in the US than other nations.

Weve seen how cities like Portland Seattle & LA are gradually descending into squalor. So if nothing is to prevent this slide could get worse.

Places like Australia night be better off because of low population density and an abundance of natural resources

Australians would be fucked. Most of us live on the coasts where the water and vegetation is. The interior is a no go zone unless there's a continued logistic model in place....

And then there are autonomous drones with FLIR so that anybody left in the interior would be targeted and dispensed with....

Mad Max fantasies are just that.... fantasies.

You should go 'splain it to them, Mr Wiztard.

I am retired.

When I was a developer, I was as productive as at least 10 average programmers. In some cases, I created algorithms that hundreds of other programmers were unable to develop.

There is no doubt that I would be breaking down barriers in the field of AI. But I am enjoying my retirement.

The AI would be putting up barriers in real time against you. You can't solve the AI problem.... only aid and abet it.

Well of course I could not control what all other development teams are doing.

All I am telling you is that AI does no have free will. Anything it does, it was allowed to do by humans.

Aka.... anything that humans tell it to do or not to do, will be rendered moot in self learning models.

The AI cat us out of the bag....

Drown it before it's too late.

Drown it before it's too late.

Nah, it is happening now.

And trying to contain it is probably futile because of human error or nefarious intentions.

There should be a focus on blocking AI access. The implementation of low-tech solutions should not be ignored or dismissed.

So we're already doomed....

Of course you were.

It's possible.... I can drive machinery quicker, more efficiently, and safer than 5-10 peoples worth in the 20 something to 30 something age bracket. Those who are marginally quicker than me (5 or so percent) always end up in accidents because they have little to no experience and think themselves invincible..... then the wheels come off or they plunge down a kilometer long mountainside because they didn't feel their machinery and internal balance.

Kayaking in tidal pools and channels during high and low tides was something I loved growing up because if I fucked up, I was probably dead.... with or without a PFD....so I never wore them. It taught me everything I needed to know about operating machinery as safe as possible but still pushing the limits.

So when you think of Prowler, accidents come immediately to mind.
...Interesting.
