I think if they can get the prices down to about $2.8K, they'll sell a decent amount here. I hem hawed a bit on a Benelli M4 but eventually "pulled the trigger" for $1800 "cause Benelli M4". The FAL is somewhat iconic so I think that would carry a bit of the $$$ on reputation alone. The .223 version is about $3200 but its just so difficult to sell one of those in a rack full of top line AR-15's with a price tag of no more than $1800.
