So I get a letter destined for my neighbour in my mailbox. Ring their doorbell to give them their letter.

"Oh, come on in!" Well, OK I guess... wasn't planning on it, but OK.

Now, I haven't showered in like three days, grew my bum beard back, was wearing my ratty-tatty clothes that I tend to wear when I have no place to be, and I probably stunk also.

On top of that, their kid came over too, to deliver a Christmas present. I was there for like three hours.

In hindsight I should've just delivered the letter tomorrow after cleaning up a bit. Don't be like me, thrust into an uncomfortable situation... Always keep your ass clean and deodorized!

In this day and age, a lot of people keep themselves to themselves (for obvious reasons) and don't socialise too much with their neighbours.

I guess it depends on the situation and what kind of area you live in....

Yes. I am very fortunate here. My other neighbour cleared the snow off my driveway today with his skid-steer loader. I have a snowblower and can easily manage this task on my own, but this neighbourhood is truly 1950's Mayberry vibe and he'll just do this without even asking me.

I am blessed here, to know many people in this 'hood on a first name basis. If I had a problem, they will help, but I pride myself on not relying on others to do what I can do myself.

In return I try to be as respectful as I can towards them. Rural/Semi-Rural lifestyle is best lifestyle. And every single person in this small town is White. Odd coincidence? I think not!

I can even leave my doors unlocked here. I would NEVER live in a big city again!
