They had an outbreak in the student dorms at SDSU back in 2018 of viral spinal meningitis due to cramped conditions. I think there were a couple of deaths mostly from off campus housing in "mini dorms" which are regular single family
homes illegally converted into 8 to 10 room tiny bedrooms then rented out by slum lords (mostly Arabs and foreign buyers from Asia) to students who college students who couldn't afford better as well as the illegals and low income type people.
The city cracked down hard leveling fines so large that many slum lords lost their properties because the cost of paying the fines and restoring buildings to their approved plans was too expensive for them to bare. Investors bought the houses at auction, restored them to their approved layout plans, then sold them to families. A net win in my book though that does reduce affordable housing options. Imagine being A neighbor who's nice single family neighborhood got slowly over run by mini dorms packed in with 10-20 people into a house zoned for just 4-6? Imagine what that does to street parking and traffic (not to mention over loading sewer and water systems)?

I also built A small side business and worked here, was educated here, grew up here, and know infinitely more about the region then you. I mean this homeless problem should be solved by now because CA has been a progressive state for several years. Yet it's worse.
Instead of looking at that and honestly looking at policies you guys just kinda shift blame over us as if you actually believe at this point that it's the existence of other parties that is the cause and we need to put dems/progs in absolute positions of power in the federal gov and in every state.....so CA policies can work. That seems to be the thinking.

You guys have a premise we dont agree with. Most homeless people on the streets are homeless by choice and do not want to leave the streets. So just taxing wealthy people more makes no sense. Especailly when you guys do not demand any sort of transparency or better use of the high taxes already paid by everyone in these states.

I think these billionaires should be allowed to get rich and prosper while they are alive.
However - when they die the government should either take away their assets OR they should be provided with the option of designating that wealth to infrastructure projects, roads, schools, hospitals, HOUSING & even venture capital funds to help create the next Elon Musk & to keep the Capitalist system vitalistic and alive. Plus the billionaires would have their name stamped on all these projects or foundations like TRUMP HOTEL. Allow them to pass up to a billion dollars down per child or spouse but the rest would be designated for the public good.
Btw this wouldn't apply to mere millionaires but the Super/Ultra rich. Kinda like what billionaire Warren Buffet envisioned. Tax people like him but leave those making a million and below alone. The Super rich like him are like a fraction of 1% so it would not affect 99.9% of Americans anyways.
I don't think it makes any sense whatsoever to maintain dynasties of wealth. Otherwise a country becomes like Mexico whose social tensions may be even worse than the United States & nobody is safe because there's such a disparity between rich & poor.
