It takes roughly a month for oil to be pumped out of the ground, transported to the refinery, refined into gasoline, then delivered to a gas station. Yet a day after some shit hits the fan gas prices skyrocket. So the $2 gas at the station suddenly becomes $4 gas. Yet when the shit subsides the prices take months to slowly creep down because "it takes a month for oil to be pumped etc, etc, ". Same shit different war.
