Rather than protecting America those 2 see it as a hindrance and a nuisance to their Imperial ambitions. Plus an America no longer in NATO would allow Trump or a Republican successor like him would allow the US to invade Greenland.

Trump would have done it had it not been for NATO & Denmark's European allies.

Plus they threatened to dumo $9 trillion in bonds which would have trashed the stock market.

NATO stands in Trump's way and he doesn't like it/them.
