They're collectors items here with specialized vintage plates and insurance offerings for people that drive them infrequently and to car shows and parades.
When I came here in the mid 90's you couldn't give those things away... now they can be worth tens of thousands of dollars depending on mileage and condition.

Yeah, in America they're kind of novelty items. There is a market for them though, a niche' market that is. Cuter than fuck though. In Canada they're useless in the heavy snow of an Eastern Canadian winter. So, people use them like dune buggys around the Pacific Northwest.
In Washington State Japanese KCars are flooding the market right now. Small, compact, and with good gas milage; I'm seeing more on the road nowadays.
When I came here and needed a cheap car to get instantly on the road, I found a farmer in the middle of nowhere who fixed up local cars and sold them by the roadside. I got an LJ Holden Torana for 2500 dollars (AUD) in mint shape (it was a Texas styled dry region) . That car is worth some people's savings in America these days.
If I had a infinite storage garage or warehouse where I could have parked every single old vehicle I ever bought and mothballed them for decades, I'd probably have tens of millions of added dollars in my accounts.
But I didn't. I was always in the present and still am. I'm happy I wasn't geared that way because now I know everything rots, rusts, and dissappears except possibly glass, crystals, and socialist morons like Jack, Admin, and Seaboobery.
Oh... and cockroaches and mosquitos...
