That's not what happened. George Floyd died of a drug overdose because he swallowed his drug stash just before getting busted for yet another felony. Two autopsies clearly revealed the cause of death. The only thing the cop was guilty of was looking like an asshole as he was filmed restraining a violent felon according to standard procedure at the time.

In that era 2020-2021 police brutality and the “defund police” was a national conversation. My born again retired police officer conservative cousin agreeed with a lot of the defund police ideas like cops shouldn’t be the caretakers of the mentally ill for one. Obviously he didn’t agree with the more extreme idea of getting rid of law enforcement entirely, as some people proposed. Just tightening the focus of police responsibilities.
