HOW TO START A COLLECTION

My advice is...try to avoid collecting too much @Alticus

Unless you've bot a lot of space, comic books tend to take up a lotta room

Just stick with a handful to titles

But I'd recommend a range of between 200 to 500 comic books

Maximum 1000 books at most

so whatever your genre (s)is stick with them. ie horror, sci fi, superhero, archie

If a person collects too much junk they run outta room fast

So try to collect all the good stuff and avoid anything you're not really interested in.

Go fer Quality over Quantity.

A person can't own everything so they should just stick to what they can

Thanks man!
I found a cheaper more affordable source to buy these vintage hockey cards @Alticus

The guy charges 1/4 to 1/2 of what the dealers do

So I'll go to him from now on.

Those 1952/3 Parkhurst hockey cards cost me only $20 Canadian each then another $20 each to get slabbed/graded.

That's cheap for 75 year old card

Best to avoid overspending on collectibles if a person can help it.

Here's an item I bought recently @The Real Alticus :

You're weird Joe
I have a complete 1912 Canada coin set @jack . It contains 2 Gold coinsI could post a photo of it if you like

I'm trying to complete the 1913 deluxe set which contains 3 Gold coins & is very rare. It's value is well over $10,000 US possibly $20,000. The 1913 C sovereign is the jewel in that set with less than 300 known to exist.

1914 isn't quite as pricey tho it contains a deluxe 3 Gold set as well.

Old n rare is where it's at jack. Original Art. Comic books. Sports cards etc @jack.

I know all about comics, Joe. Been in the biz over 50 years, even self published a couple books that have become collectibles. I've made seriious bank on that hobby, and read every book that's ever come through my hands.

Coins are weird, because you can ONLY sell them to other collectors. Dealers only think scrap so those numbers dont mean much.

....in which case always buy coins made out of pure gold, silver, platinum or palladium @jack. The purer the better. .9999 pure eh?

It's the equivalent of buying a nondescript worthless 1990s Charlton comic book but then having it printed on gold foil. The content may be worthless but the material it's printed on has value.

I have coins like that. They have little collector value but the gold in them keeps going up so they keep increasing in value.

Anyways if you have a bit of extra cash you might think about gradually buying some gold n silver @ jack. Say 10 Oz gold & 100 Oz of silver as a starter investment?

The elites around the world are playing games with our money & the global financial system. Just like back in 2008. So this cannot end well. At least @Seamajor would agree with me on that.

I have 20 oz of gold. I sold all my silver when it popped 120/oz and have been slowly buying every dip.
