Yes - the salaries need to be adjusted to make so sort of sense to the hard working fans.
Adjusted, Babe Ruth would have made 1.2 million (1927) today.
..but Trevor Somebody or other is worth 27 million.
Shit - Hall of Famers of that era used to bag groceries in the off season.

Hockey was never a sport I was involved with. I grew up in a lake community and skated in winter, but was a Basketball player during the winter months both in school and local leagues. Some kids play'd hockey but there was no organized league - kids made their own games - same was true of soccer.
At one time, I lived in Hoboken, NJ - the home of Baseball - and it was a year when the Islanders won the Cup.
Around the corner was a bar (which had good live music) which was lovingly called the Esleezian, actually the Elysian (for Elysian Field - home of Baseball only a block away), and I walked in and saw the last 5 minutes of the clinching game which was on the box.
That's the most hockey I've ever watched. I was very impressed by the speed of the game and skating skill of the players for sure. I think the Rangers won their last just a few years later.
