We have to help the younger generation find jobs OR build successful livelihoods through self-employment.

In reality, this is a return back to a time when people created their own jobs or employment.

ie - people used to be farmers or tradesmen before the factories came along and wiped out their jobs.

So now perhaps it's going in full reverse where people will have to create their own employment.

Iran is a recent example of what happens when restless youth feel they don't have a future and the governing party can't cope with the social unrest. Get riots. Since large companies seem to no longer want to hire a large workforce anymore, people will have to create their own employment.

But this isn't that different than the model which existed before the Industrial Revolution.

1 or 2 centuries ago, many people were self employed in one way or another.

They were shopkeepers, farmers, tradesmen.

Now, I don't suggest that this would solve the problem of unemployment or underemployment

Or replace a full time well paying job.

But it might make people/workers less reliant on governments, corporations and become more self-sufficient.

And when I see you lurking all the time on these forums, wasting your life/retirement pm, I don't want to be like you Lex @The Prowler.
